Oxfendoate Worm Paste

For the treatment and control of susceptible strains of all common worms of horses, including tapeworms.

Directions For Use
At the recommended dose level of 1 mL per 20 kg, Oxfendoate Oral Broad Spectrum Worm Paste For Horses treats and controls the following parasites:
Large Strongyles: (Bloodworms) Strongylus spp. and Triodontophorus spp.
Small Strongyles (cyathostomins): (Redworms) including benzimidazole resistant strains (adult and immature) Cyanthostomum spp., Cylicocyclus spp., Cylicostephanus spp., Cylicodontophorus spp., Gyalocephalus spp.
Large Roundworms: (Ascarids) Parascaris equorum (adult and immature) including ivermectin, moxidectin and abamectin resistant strains (adult).
Pinworms: (Seatworm) Oxyuris equi
Tapeworm: Anoplocephala perfoliata.

Precautions

This product is most effective against adult stages of ivermectin, moxidectin and abamectin resistant strains of Parascaris equorum. Egg shedding may recommence 2-4 weeks after treatment. A re-treatment interval of 2-4 weeks will provide better control of the immature (juvenile) stages of macrocyclic lactone resistant strains of Parascaris equorum

Dosage And Administration

Safe to use in foals, pregnant mares and breeding stallions. Withdrawal of feed is not required prior to administration.
Oxfendoate Oral Broad Spectrum Worm Paste For Horses is given at the recommended dose level of 1 mL per 20 kg bodyweight. The dose of 1 mL per 20 kg bodyweight delivers 10 mg/kg of Oxfendazole and 13mg/kg (cesticidal dose) of Pyrantel Embonate. The contents of this syringe will treat one horse at 700 kg bodyweight. Each weight marking on the syringe plunger will deliver 5 mL of paste, which is sufficient to treat 100 kg bodyweight.
Remove the cap from nozzle. Turn ring to set required dose.
Insert the syringe into the gap between front and back teeth. Depress the plunger to the chosen dose, depositing the dose on the rear of the tongue. Immediately raise the horse’s head after dosing to ensure the full dose is swallowed.

General Directions

All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals and yearlings. Good resistance management is advisable.

Mare And Foal Worming Schedule

Pregnant mares should be wormed two weeks prior to expected foaling date. It is recommended to regularly treat foals and mares from 4 weeks of age. Consult your veterinarian for further advice.

Safety

Oxfendoate has shown a wide safety margin at the recommended dose level. It may be used in horses of any age. Safe to use in pregnant mares and stallions.
